Some may vision this as a happy ever after fairy tale. But I would like to disagree! I think the goal can be accomplished! I gotta think positive! I mean I'm just sick of all the hatred. I have found that hatred and anger only does more harm to us. The only thing that really matters is our vote! People can run the politicians down until they are blue in the face. It will solve nothing! When you cast your vote, you are actually doing something! I'm not speaking against any certain party. I'm really just speaking in general! I mean alot of people don't like politics because of all of the relentless mudslinging that takes place. Running our leaders in the ground is truly pointless and solves nothing. It did no good for people who hated Clinton, and it is doing no good now! We all have the right to free speech. I guess I would just like to see more respect and unity among Americans. A democrat should not be persecuted on the job for being a democrat and vice versa. And it does happen!

Well, right after the September 11th attacks we came close! But I would like to see a day when it doesn't take tragedy to Unify us.

Politicians need to keep people in an "us against them" state of mind. Divide and conquer. As long as people refer to "red-states" or "liberals" and then follow through with a unfounded stereotype they are providing job security to the politicians who tell one side what it wants to hear and demonize the other. Meanwhile, they all mingle with the same lobbyists, visit the same whores network with the same criminals they publicly criticize.

I agree that America being untied may be not quite what we envision. However, I think that the general American public can be more aware of issues than they currently are. For example, issues like water, energy and terrorism, all of which I have written books about, are critical issues facing our country today. With just a slightly more aware public, the quality of our politicians and elected officials would change significantly. In my opinion, many in office today and many running for office would not meet the test of a more aware public that wanted true discussion and an honest search for solutions.
Voting is an excellent first step, no doubt. However, becoming more aware goes beyond just voting. It includes reading, getting involved in groups and with others that are actively seeking solutions and caring about others.
For example, as an elected official on a local water board, I encourage our district's customers to visit our water facilities and join the board members at our meetings. The more informed our customers are about their water supply system, the more ideas and solutions to problems they present to the board. In essence, the easier our job of governing our small district becomes.
In this sense, America can become more united by its citizens becoming more aware and involved.

Maybe some day. Great point.
The difference is this. The hard right relentlessly attacked Clinton from day 1. Now, it is the Bush admin and their media outlets that initiated a relentless attack against average citizens who did not agree with invading Iraq. They called us cowards, traitors, communists, terrorist supporters, and so on.
The left did not begin attacking the Bush admin, the Bush admin and his outlets began attacking everyone else. So now, most of us who were verbally assaulted by the Bush admin for not agreeing with him started fighting back.

The republicans started it because people didn't(/don't?) see any difference between Dems & Reps. So the GOP decided to invent differences. That they trook pages from the propaganda campaigns of the Third reich is deplorable. But they have to stop spreading the hate on their consrevative talk shows before anyone can heal.

There's only one way I know of that America is going to be united again. We need a big war with someone we can all hate together. That's the only time we ever set aside the bickering among ourselves- when we have a big war with an enemy who can slug it out with us in a big way.
I'm gonna get a bunch of thumbs down on this answer because nobody wants to hear it. I'm not supplying an answer I expect to be popular. Just the best one I can think of.

There are large numbers of Ron Paul Republicans around the country trying to restore freedom in the territory governed by the District of Criminals. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans have fallen for the Obama Cult.

Okay, first I think we are on the way. The reason people hated President Clinton, is that they feel he stole the election from President Bush. And that has carried over for almost two decades now. The same story for the current President Bush. I would surmise that when we get a new president with an election that is not close, or have a decent third party spoiler, then all will be better.

again? I'm not so sure we ever really have been...
heck, we went to war over it even... and those feelings existed long before and after that war...
I mean, it's a nice idea, but I don't know how likely it is...
you get enough people together over a wide enough area... people won't like each other... seems to be human spirit... unfortunately...

I will always believe that our enemies have a lot to do with the dissension in this country. They plant a lot of the trouble and people blindly follow. Until they wake up we will never get rid of the problem.
