I let them do there big spill and then tell them no thank you. I always think of it this way. This is there job and the longer they keep you on the phone the more they get paid and I do feel sorry for them---cause they are probably broke and uneducated.
Although I do have a funny one. My brother is blind and they called him to buy magazines--he ordered a lot of them and when they asked for his credit card number he said he didn't know cause he was blind and then he asked for the mags in braille they went---click

I aks them for their home phone number so that I can them during an inopportune time...I then ask them when they eat dinner, sleep, bathe and make love to their signifacant other. This usually gets them off the phone...if not I keep going and tell them of items I have for sell on eBay and ask if they would be interested.

I try to get their phone number so I can call them back later. I wish! Actually I screen my calls most of the time.

Let the answering machine pick it up. It's the only time my family has to sit together and talk and I'm not gonna be interrupted.

Oh, I love messing with them! One time I told them the person they asked for died. Sometimes I tell them to give me their number and I'll call them back when its convenient for me. I also like to tell them"Hang on 1 minute, I'll get them." Then put them on hold. Forever.

I pick up and tell them to hold on a minute. After dinner, I pick up the phone. Usually, they are gone.

answer in Italian and pretend I do not understand. Sometimes they get a translator on the line and as soon as they do, you say you cant speak italian and hang up
