everythin is made up of matter even gas ...even light is made up of matter ( cuz it has matter's property; light is photons) the only thing i can think of is SPACE but everything else is made up of matter...
when i said SPACE i do NOT mean the gases that are in space , i mean space which is almost impossible to define it ) ...if you want to give a good answer , say nothing !

anything that isnt made out of matter isn't made up of matter.
ok seriously, any form of energy is not matter, mostly referring to waves, which is a form of energy.
also, anti matter is not matter, however then the definition of matter comes into question.
also, for those that say "space" or vacuum isnt made up of matter, that is not correct.
there is no such thing as a perfect vacuum, even in outer space. as there are virtual pairs of particles being produced and annihilated constantly everywhere. this is apparent in the casimir effect.
and space itself cannot be said to be not made out of matter, since if you say space is not made out of matter, then it follows that it's made out of something else. which is not the case. space, and time was created by the big bang. along with matter and energy.
so physical phenomenon that isnt matter is energy. (energy would include waves of any kind, since waves are transferences of energy over a distance)
since all physical phenomenon can be either categorized as matter or energy, energy isnt made up of matter.
of course, you can always convert matter into energy and vice versa, but thats not what the question asks.

everything is made up of matter (yes even gas, sorry guys) light has virtually no mass, but it still has a mass ... the same with electrons
the only thing that isnt made up of matter, that is to say, having no mass, is a single photon
a pair of photons exhibits invariant mass qualities, but not s single one
