Joe Torre's time in New York has come and gone, along with Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera and quite possibly Alex Rodriguez. Brian Cashman has his work cut out for him; he has to re-sign the former greats for market value, not what the players think their value is. If Cashman lets some or all of these stars walk, we're going to see a couple things happen. Some owners will overpay the former Yankees and then watch them under perform. Meanwhile, the Yankees will outbid the rest of MLB for some big-name free agents such as Andruw Jones and/or Torii Hunter. Regardless we can close the chapter on this Yankees era.

If Torre leaves the yankees, he will not be leaving NY. The Mets have already stated that if he's let go that they will out bid any team interested. As far as the players (not just Rivera) they are very loyal to the coach. You've heard them say that they love being a yankee but it is because of Torre. You might even see some of these players that are free agents follow him to the Mets if he goes. I see Rivera, Pettitte, Clemens, Posada and maybe A-Rod leaving the yankees. I will say that it would be a shame if he goes considering Torre took them to win 4 World Series and 12 postseasons while he was there. I am a huge Red sox fan but can also applaud what the man has done for that organization.

Rivera is an idiot. He should base his decision on weather he thinks the contract they offer is right for him or not. If he leaves because they don't keep Torre, then why go play for another team? Just be a Yankee. Unless he thinks that there will be a better chance to win elsewhere. Watch him go to Boston! ha!
I thought he spoke better English, whats up with that interview, did you see that? I had to lie down after listening to that. Great cutter though. I would love to see him face Bonds, so he could break the M-f-er's bats to pieces!

Rivera shouldn't leave no matter what. he's right where he belongs, and ready to redeem himself after a semi-shaky season-- next year. Sorry, but I have a signed ball from the guy so he'd better go out big with the Yankees and eventually retire after a much better year than this one :).
As for the Bernie Williams fan-- did you buy his album? Ha ha. Isn't he like an acoustic country star or something now? What the hell was all THAT about?

Mo should go. During the 2006 season, he blew saves all through April. During the 2007 season, through April, and May. At this rate, Mo won't get his groove back until just before the all star brake. Who needs that? The Yankees need new blood. Get rid of Mo, while he's worth something to someone and find a closer who can dominate like Mo did a few years ago.

No. I would hate to see him go and save games for other teams. Once a Yankee should always be a Yankee. Why would anyone want to leave New York?

He should leave if they don't give him his money. He looked like maybe he has lost a step at one point, but now hes looking like he has 3 good years left.
