Or do you just do it because you take pride in your work or both?

I`m retired now, but when I worked as a mechanic, doing a job that I could be proud of was important to me. It was a mark of excellence, when a vehicle had no problems when it left my shop.

Recognition isn't important to me. I get appreciation and thanked a lot. That is worth more, in my opinion.
I do take pride in what I do... I feel I should put my best effort into anything I do.

Ehh...I wish my job would thank me for what i do every now and then. But, unfortunately they don't sucks for me...

My job is customer oriented and my position doesn't really deal with customers so naturally i get the shaft when it comes to raises/recognition. It'd be nice to hear a "good job" Or "hey, thanks for saving our ***"
