My boyfriend and I have 2 kids together. We are constantly seperating and getting back together. We are both in our 20's and live in Texas. Right now we do not have too much money to spend so we can't afford to go just about anywhere. Also he only speaks spanish and a little bit of english so they would have to know both languages. He tells me that he loves me sometimes and I know that he wants us to get help so that we can make it. Where can we go to get the help that we need?

I think the best counseling you could get is by reading these two books called "The Proper Care and Feeding of Marriage" and "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands.

If you both are planning to marry, then you first need to work on your problems now. You already have 2 kids together and your kids do need two parents in their lives. How important is it for you both to keep your family together?? That's the question you need to ask. Right now, you both are only 'shacking up'. What you both need is some respect for one another and the only way you can both get respect is if you both are serious about getting married to one another. If not, then family is not important to you.

If you don't have much money, do what you can with what you have now. Also, if you both love each other, then 'change'. Change the way you think. Change your attitude. Change the way you talk to each other. Speak nicely to one another. Show love to one another. Your kids need to have two parents who show love to each other and to them.

Your boyfriend can get more help with his English by taking some classes at night. I am sure there are classes to learn English. Or, you can teach him English when he has time off of work. Help him. Help each other.

Consider in marriage if you love each other. Make it right for the sake of your 2 kids.

I would check out your local teaching university and see if they have a mental health clinic that does counseling on a sliding scale. You might also have community counseling clinics, I'm not familiar with Texas. If nothing else, your minister or priest can counsel you for free.
