How many years should I work before having a child? I'm 28 and will finally start working next year. Yes - it's unfortunately taken me that long to get through school. I would like to have kids at some point but I really want to get my foot in the door as far as my career.

I think to be a good mom, you have to be content with yourself and it sounds like you have worked hard and long to get this job and career. I think you should go for it and have babies when you fill self fulfilled as you will be a more content happy mom. good luck

Have children when you and your partner are ready. Make sure your in a committed and healthy relationship and that you both want to have children at the same time.

The truth is, you are already older than the average woman having her first baby and if you wait too much longer you will increase your pregnancy risks [risk of preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, down syndrome, and others all increase with maternal age]. Not to mention that if you have a baby when you're 30 you'll be almost 60 by the time your child leaves home....how do you want to spend your retirement age?

There's a lot to think about when you have a baby...good luck!

When youre ready. Your job will always be there but your body ages and getting pregnant becomes harder and harder. Careers can come and go but family will always be there for you,so dont set a certain 'good' age , do what is right for you and your partner.

I think once your out of school that as long as you and your husband/fiance/boyfriend are stable financially and of course other wise and that if you both agree to it then you should do it. Anytime your ready from now on out. Good Luck.

Why have them? You are about to start your career. Why ever stall it? Are you worried about peer pressure? Do you feel that you have some obligation to society to add to the already overpopulated earth?
