No human knows when the world or our current measure of time will cease to exist. The end of one's life is, for them, the end of the world. So in that regard it could be any moment now or sometime within the next 100 years. Therefore, one must live their life as if it might end at any moment. Sort of a morbid thought that I have found easier to live with because of faith in God and Jesus Christ.

What do you mean by the world ending?

Do you mean when is humanity going to become extinct? Make no mistake; it will happen. All species eventually go extinct, and ours is no different. When or why is anybody's guess. Maybe it's rampant pollution that'll finally get us, or a supervirus, or a meteor impact, or some combination of the three. Maybe it will be tomorrow (not likely, but possible) or maybe it will be a thousand years from now. Nobody knows, and anybody who tells you otherwise is mistaken.

The Earth itself probably won't ever be destroyed, although when the Sun turns into a red giant, some 5 billion years from now, it's going to be pretty well cooked. It's not likely that anything on Earth will survive that, so if we're still kicking by then, that's kind of our deadline. As for the big chunk of real estate known as our planet, I'd say that there's no credible mechanism leading to its complete disintegration anytime within the next trillion years or so (barring the wrath of Darth Vader, mind you), so as long as we manage to keep it habitable, we'll always have the ground to stand on.

Before the Sun actually 'dies', the Sun will evolve into what is called a red giant star. Its outer edge will be way out here near the Earth's orbit so that the Earth itself will be Bar-B-Qued. This will happen in about 6 billion years, but our investigations of stars like the Sun show that in about 500 million to 1 billion years from now, the Sun will have grown in its power output so that the temperature of the Earth's surface will be 50 - 100 degrees higher than it is today. The oceans will evaporate into the sky which will cause the earth to heat up just like Venus is today with surface temperatures above 500 degrees F . So, long before the Sun dies, life on this Earth will come to an end.

Well, the past predictions have all been wrong, but, people will still want the answer, and you asked on Yahoo answers,so...I'll just guess, and first say,I don't think in 2012! More like millions of years, when either the sun fries it,or,an astroid,or something.Ofcourse, there is always a chance that with this Global Warming,it could end in a devastating war. Who knows!

When the world decides it has had enough of US hegemony. It will be one big suicide bombing with WMDs. The only comfort is knowing that George Bush will be one of the first to go.

At an absolute maximum, in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years. By that time 99.9% of the protons that make up the universe will have decayed into their constituent parts. Something will probably happen long before that though.
