I work at a warehouse so I am either standing or walking on concrete for 10 hours a day. I won't wear anything but New Balance. If you can find a New Balance store. The store associates are amazing at finding the best shoe suited for your situation. I have also dealt with a weak ankle ligament and plantar fasciitis before I found these shoes and they helped greatly before and after surgery.

I teach severely handicapped kids and am on my feet all day (sometimes at a run, with the kids I have....LOL) I wear New Balance walking shoes. I can go all day with no pain in my feet. Of course since I am expected to "dress up" for my job I look a little funny in my dress, pantyhose and sneakers, but with my job, everybody understands :-)

I would recommend you find a quality shoe that fits you the best then go an have custom orthodics made and insert these into the shoe. Your feet and back will thank you for this for many years to come.

2 opportunities. One is to attempt 'earth shoes'. they have diverse sorts and they are very mushy, if slightly hippy looking. in case you want something extra 'primary'... seem into nurse shoes or shoes made for those in food service. seem up the word uniform shoes on Google and also you'll locate what you want.

Asics.. they provide really good support and are awesome running shoes.. if you want a top of the line pair of asics, get the kayano's.. and if you throw a pair of gel inserts into them, they are like running on heaven.

New Balance is the one that all podiatrists recommend as far as I know. You should also consider Dansko. They are very good for the feet.

Brooks. Lots, lots, lots of support. I have them, and I love them. They're a little pricy, though, but they're so worth it! Hope I helped! :)
