When x = 3/5 , y = 0
(3/5 , 0) is a point on graph
(2 , 7) is another point
Join these two points gives a line sloping upwards from the x axis
(0 , 3) is another point on the graph
Join (0,3) and ((3/5,0) gives a line sloping downwards.
Graph is now complete (a v shape touching (3/5,0)

1) drop the parentheses, or

y= + - (5x-3), that is, you have TWO lines!

a) graph y = 5x -3 and
y = - (5x-3) ot
y = -5x + 3.

b) Go ahead and graph them! See where they intersect? at 5x -3 = 0 or x = 3/5.

c) |u| means absolute value, so ERASE any part of your picture that is below the x-axis (those have negative y's, right)?

d) What are you left with? Something that looks like a corner, right? This is called the corner function. It should look like the letter 'V', sitting on the x-axis at the point x = 3/5.

Done.
