A fetus will urinate into the amniotic fluid several times a day. The placenta will carry away the waste products and they will be eliminated by the mother's kidneys.

The fetal intestines are filled with a product called meconium. A fetus will not expell significant amounts of meconium until after birth. It is the blackish green tarry stuff in the first messy diapers. If a fetus is in distress, especially if its oxygen supply is impaired, it will defecate into the amniotic cavity. Aspirating meconium stained amniotic fluid can be very irritating to the lungs once the infant takes its initial breaths. The OB will take every effort to see that does not happen. But sometimes it does, and the pediatrician or other resuscitator will pass a tube into the windpipe to suction it out. If unsuccessful, the infant can develop respiratory distress of varying severity. The resuscitator may also suction out the stomach to clear it of swallowed meconium.

Urine is expelled in the amniotic fluid.

Babies do their first #2 when they are born. That's one of the reasons why full-term babies are taken if they go too long overdue.....to avoid them having their bowel movement in the womb. It can cause complications.
