I'm with you...so you're not alone feeling the way you do.
I kind of feel like my life is a bit of a double edged sword...on one hand if i let my self open up to ppl i feel i'll get hurt like so many times before, and on the other, if i don't let people in, then I don't have anyone.
I guess the hardest part is feeling like no one can understand me or wants to in the first place.
Kinda sad to think that in a world with as many people in it, it may aswell be empty.
The good thing is both you and I understand where eachother is coming from and thats comforting to me for sure.

I have seen alone and lonely discussed here. There is a difference.
I used to have a deep feeling of lonliness and over time it has become I am alone, and I am VERY ok with that. It is not that I mind people for periods of time but my privacy has become my safe haven from the insanity in the world today.

I can sympathise with you, I get very lonely but try hard not to get to down about it and I know It's easier said than done, but all depending on what your circumstances are have you ever thought about joining a singles club or just any club that organises social activities and meeting other people especially the ones that thought they were in the same position as yourself. Give it a go. XX

Yes I feel very alone but I like it that way. Recently separated from my wife, I have no friends of my own - all my acquaintances were my wife's friends. But it does mean that I can go out and be sociable when I want to be with whom I want but I can return to my refuge and my solitude when I don't want to be bothered with others.

I use to, but I don't anymore. I actually enjoy my time alone and the peace that I have. I enjoy my own company. I needed to learned how to be alone without feeling lonely.

Yes, I feel alone. It's like no one really knows me.
I have no close friends. Many friends, but none close. What I think and feel is kept only to myself. There is no one I trust enough to tell them everything.
I'm hoping this will eventually change.

I have felt very alone this week, my father died, none of my siblings are talking to each other let alone me, everything is very secretive and nasty and I will be so glad when this week is over.
