i won $1000 and i dont know what to do with it?

Question

Afew weeks ago i won $1000 on the radio. i was exited and all but i dont know what to do with it. i was thinking of buying a whole new wardrobe but i dont know whether i need more clothes. What should i do?

im 13 and i cant travel, i only got the money today put in a bank account that i had to get set up for it. im not sure whether i want to blow it all or keep it all or keep half for shopping or something. my brother wants me to get a nintendo WII and i said no and hes really upset. i might get some nice clothes or something i dont know (: more suggestions?

Jashin i said i would buy clothes. god i didnt say anything else like a phone or ipod and stuff because i dont need all that crap ok. And no im not a shallow ***** who has no brain. just because i want some suggestions on what i should do with it DOES NOT make me shallow. Maybe ill shove it up your as.s. see how you like it? (:

OK, here is what you do. Take about $200 and go shopping. Take another part of it, and buy some savings bonds or a cd at the bank. That way it will make a lot more money for you in the future and you can have something now to show for it.

Open an account & save it for something you may really want later. Don't spend it on clothes yet. It could be something big you want later or a down payment for something your gonna need in the near future.
If you start a saving account, you won't see it if you keep it there and you'll earn interest. Look into 6 months certificate at the bank, or even a 1year certificate which they also call CD's for short. Look into Credit unions, sometimes they have the best highest returns for your depost.

Lol save part of it because you're going to pay a few hundred in taxes on the win.
The rest...I'd put part in savings and spend the rest on things that'll last you a while like a nice new blow dryer or a beautiful pair of designer shoes...

use 500 and buy something that you want soo much, and you've been wanting. Think hard about it, don't just blow it. It's not very often that you win $1,000. The rest you should save for later, pay bills with, taxes. You pick. Just don't blow it

Definitly save half, that is important. Give 10% to charity. (trust me, you will get it back somehow, one day my mom wrote a $500 check to salvation army, and the next day she found out that the IRS made a mistake on her taxes and she got $600 back!) And then, the rest, you should get shoes, clothes, purses, gifts for friends, etc.

Put some toward charity .. i mean even 50 dollars can save someones life!! I get a pretty big allowance of 40dollars a week, and i always put at least 15 of it towards charity

I wouldn't go looking for stuff to buy for the sake of it because usually, you find something perfect afterwards and you regret what you bought earlier.

Maybe leave it in your bank for now.. something's bound to catch your eye sooner or later and when it does, you'll have enough to buy it twice!!

Clothes come and go. I would divide it into thirds. One third for something I want now, one third for something I wanted later and one third for the rainy day that is always looming up when you least expect it. Oh yes, don't forget about the tax man, because he won't forget about you come January.
