This person has been a small business owner for about 6yrs and he is now trying to sell his business. How can this person get a good job? Where would he start?

You've been your own boss for years. As a hiring manager, I would be cautious of your ability to shine under subordination. That being said, you should seek management positions in a company that appreciates autonomy.

Hiring managers (should) know a lot about aptitude and job compatibility. Take their caution to heart, and consider independent work.

You should look at the jobs you want to apply for. Then tailor your resume to that jobs, using the skills that you have gained from your small business. Since business do a lot of on-line screening, your first impression is your resume. Ensure you customize it to the company you are applying too. Companies hate to receive generic resumes.

he learned this in college, it's a matter of deciding where he wants to work, in what field, making out a resume and knocking on doors.

after running your own buss. you wont be able to do what some dumbass boss tells you to do.
just start a new buss.
