I live with my parents and my little sister. I’ve sang in plays. My talent that I know I possess is singing. And I hope thats a plus for the acting business. I want to make my family proud. I’ve even made a goal sheet for myself and at the top is-get an acting career. Believe me im not doing this just to be rich or famous. Well, Hannah what you need is to get a move on already. You said you sang in plays, but have you played any roles? How good are you? Singing is always a plus, but you have to be a good actor. Get into classes asap. You need solid training so that you know what you're doing before going off to audition. Many actors go to class throughout their careers. From there you need to add roles to your resume. Audition for more shows. Once you've been in class for a while and have a few roles under your belt you can try auditioning for student and indie films. All of these types of auditions can be found on backstage.com and actorsaccess.com unless you live in an area that these sites don't have much for you, then you can do a web search for your state name and the word film and that should give you sites for your state's film alliances, commissions, etc. Those sites have info meant to bring filmmakers to your state, but they also have info for locals on classes and auditions. You can also ask your teachers (in acting classes, voice lessons, & dance classes) about finding audition information locally.

So once you have the training and a solid resume, you can send your headshot and resume to legit agents that you find here:
http://www.sag.org/sagWebApp/application?origin=page1.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh&pageid=AgentInformation
http://www.agentassociation.com/
http://www.backstage.com/bso/rossreports/directories.jsp

but do not contact agents until you are ready or they won't give you the time of day. Please remember that you do not pay legit agents anything up front. They get 10% of SAG contracts after they help find you work.

good luck!
