How do you get rid of book mites?

Can someone tell me how to get rid of book mites, they are driving me crazy, I have books my garage, and I live in Houston, where its humid. I have so many books, and most have these critters in it. They bite me like those killer fishes in the Amazon . Help

They bite!? Must be a Texas bug.

I would think that boric acid poweder would work. Its available in most pharmacies. Just a light sprinkle will prob'ly do it.

put them in a zip lock bag and stick it in the freezer!
