I don't know the record but I once went 2 years without speaking to my mother. We lived in the same town and saw each other but we just didn't speak. I don't remember why we stopped talking (we're both very stubborn). I regret those 2 years now. My mother passed away on December 19, 2004. It's been a very quiet 3 years...

We once gave each other the silent treatment, but we were out with some friends, so we did talk a little bit. When we got home, we immediately made up. Neither of us can stand not being on good terms, and we now try to apologize as quickly as possible. It's not worth the pain. Forgive and forget.

Curious Question....
& even more curious is why one would ask it?
As it turns out, in the real world, I'm presently the victim of silent treatment from an old friend for speaking from my heart.
....& as myself & person concerned have always been a bit butt-headed I have my doubts (sadly) as to whether I shall be given a reprieve any time soon...
As to the record, haven't a clue as I didn't set it either.

Do you know why? (...? is this what you mean by silent treatment?) lol
If so please email me via yahoo. Thank you. CC

Penn has been giving Teller the silent treatment since 1970, so my guess would be that 37 years is the record :-)

I think my great grandmother set it when she got mad at my great grandfather. She did not talk to him for 3 weeks. 3 weeks and they lived in the same house!! Now that's getting the silent treatment! =)

LOL. i really don't know, but personaly i can hold a grudge for a heck of a long time. i mean, i went a whole week not speaking to my father who lives with me, picks me up after school, drops me off, and goes to church with me. i guess it depends on who it is you're talking about. if it's someone close or a dumb friend who did something stupid.

Lost in a literary fog, a sea of hesitancy, and a bucket of KFC?
