I eat right, exercise 4 days a week, meditate...the whole deal, yet I cannot sleep at night from worry. Can someone please inform me of any over the counter sleep aids, or inexpensive prescribed sleeping pills that could help me. I used Trazadone for a while, but it gave me sinus troubles...completely congested me every night, which would in turn keep me awake. Help, once again :)

I liked Tylenol PM and also a generic kind that I got in the grocery store. You must take it when you have at least 7 hours to sleep, but i would allow 8. It can be hard to wake up in the morning, so you may need a cup or two of coffee. The only problem is that eventually you become resistant to them, and you may find yourself addicted to them slightly (not able to sleep without them). But really it's all about training your body to sleep in that pattern, so if you get a box of sleeping pills, don't feel like you have to use the whole box. Just take them for a few nights and then stop. Then just keep the rest for days you know you will be needing lots of sleep. good luck and sweet dreams! and be CAREFUL!!!!

Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/ for more info

I have the same problems, I worry all the time. I drink beer, sleepy time tea, chamomile tea helps some what. I heard Melatonin helps with insomnia, have not tried it yet but go to Ask.com & type in Melatonin & decide for yourself or talk to your doctor.

Try to fall asleep naturally. Take deep breathes and think about something that amuses you or makes you happy when your laying in bed. Drugs would be the very last thing I would resort to!
