It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.
Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

That 12/21/2012 date was on that calender used by the Mayans etc...
All that is going to happen that day is:
1. Winter Soltice, and
2. The calender will reach it's next period of change. so the numbers go 13.0.0.0 (etc.) this hasn't happend in about 5,300 years...
They just predict that is the time when the Creator will come back.
Don't forget, old calenders weren't counting Leap Years!

i think of it rather is impossible for all of us to appreciate if something will take place interior the destiny, some are transforming into incredibly fortunate with some ambitious predictions, yet while it does, its no longer gonna rely, all human beings dies ultimately. If it seems to be genuine, then it kinda potential that there is a being better than us for who would have warned the Mayans that the international would end? This will develop some philosophical questions does not it? yet for all of us to declare flatly that the international will end on December 21, 2012 would be incredibly silly, because of the fact no person is familiar with.

well friend the Mayans believed that the world would end in 12/13/2023 and there calender is more accurate than ours. but people have been predicting the end of time since the beginning of time. my opinion is that if something does happen it will only be human kind that ends and because of our doing. i believe that the mistakes that people are making now people will make in the future and so on. like that old saying history repeats itself. it will keep repeating on and on. it will never stop. that's what i think.

would you really want to know when the world will end, that is one heck of a large burden to carry, it would worry me day and night, and i would want to tell someone, but know one will believe you until they find our for themselves, and then again if your right, then what will you gain after they are proven wrong... it would matter. the world is over.
