sugar and distilled water? wat attracs it to it?
why didnt it like the acid base and salt?

Salt draws water out of the snail, I don't believe anything attracts or deters the snail, it should have gone to the first grain of salt and pulled back quickly upon touching. An acid would do the same. Sugar and distilled water on the other hand would be neutral or absorbed by the snail, since they have the same balance.
