Some are born into it -- it's hereditary. They either choose to follow the path as their family did or they can renounce the craft, just as others renounce their faith. Other, non-hereditary witches, choose the path for varying personal and usually spiritual reasons. Witchcraft in and of itself is not a religion. Many pagans practice witchcraft yes, but many others do not. For the ones who do practice, it is part of their path, but only a part. In actuality, you can be any religion and be a witch (although Christians gasp and cringe at the thought).

first U need to figure out what type of witch U are. is it a blood witch(people from ur family were witches in the past and U inherited it.) or U could be a witch practitioner either way U are something special. one way U can tell is by your powers . If U can make thing s happen or have special abilities then U are pro bally a witch

If you have to ask, you aren't.
Being a witch is not about casting spells and hexing your enemies. It is a Spiritual Path. You can't just BE a witch, It takes work, discipline, work, desire and more work.

if you feel an inner power then you might be a witch. try a few spells to find out. ( i myself am a witch)

you'll know it when an owl delivers a letter to you inviting you to enroll on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry...
and if you did'nt get it, Hagrid slams your door to give you one o' the letters, gives you a cake for your birthday and assist you on how to go to Diagon Alley.....

usualy.. it is passed down by family.. but it is poseble to be a witch if you dont have one in your family.. are you a witch by blood or by learning... you can be a witch by learning.... like i am a mage by learning...
