His number must be on her phone. Call him up and have a talk. Explain to him that if he doesnt leave your daughter alone you will take legal action.

Wow..... do you know who he is? I have a teenage daughter too.... I'd be really suspicious about what a 21yr old would want from a 14 yr old.... buying her a phone is totally crossing the line of what is appropriate... I would make her watch "To Catch A Preditor' http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10912603/ there are actually video clips in the right hand column... then I would go to the police with the cell phone... if he bought it and it's in his name, the service provider will have the billing information and the police can pay him a visit...maybe with a restraining order

Yes, find out his name. Take the cell phone to the police station and file a report against him - naming him a child predator. The next time he calls or text messages your daughter, tell him that you filed a police report on him, and that if he ever attempts contact with your daughter again, you will call the police and have him arrested.

I completely agree with what WhereRyou? said, but I would add that before you consider dragging the law into the matter you attempt to talk to the guy. Sometimes girls lie about their age, and while at 14 you may think she looks that young, she may look older to other people. You shouldn't make the guy suffer if he did not know her real age.

The best we you can do is to allow your daughter her explanation and of course you have to listen. Then it
is time for you to talk and to tell her frankly she is still too young to be involved to someone and her priority at this time is to complete her schooling before everything else. When
she grows older the right person will come naturally as expected.

Of course she's going to lie to you --- it pisses me off because what in the hell does a 21 year old want with a child? I know the answer to this one. Call your local state attorneys office and ask them about the law -- they'll be happy to help you out I'm sure (I'm not in Texas) --- maybe we can have him castrated -- lol. Teenage girls are very very very hard to raise -- I was lucky and raised 2 boys who are now men -- thank goodness. THEY never went after underage girls though. Hang in there dad -- you'll have to be tough and hated for the next few years but you'll be loved again later...... :)

I would file a restraining order against him and call the police on him, because I'm pretty sure that in Texas, even talking to a child, particularly one 14 or younger, is illegal just by itself. No sex or even physical contact is required.

I don't know what you can do legally, but I do know that I would call this guy and tell him that my daughter is 14 and that if he every calls or even thinks about her again that you will have him arrested for solicitation of a minor.

If he bought her a cell phone? Hell yes! Your daughter is too young to enter into a cell phone contract without an adult. Someone bought that service and that is traceable.
