About your question, in Russia the comunists shot the Czar and his family, and many other people during the years that the regime lasted. Similar happened in Eastern Europe when the comunists seized power.

The communist countries murder millions and the only ones with guns are the government people. Read up on Stalin, Mao (Chinese). The picture of the guy in front of the tank in China looked good, but they are not sure if a million were murdered there. So unless you have the stomach to kill anyone that speaks out against you avoid communist. NOt a good mix with democracy. During WWII and after Stalin is supposed to have killed 50,000,000 and the China dude 80,000,000.
Socialists are a situation that has the central government give and give to the community. So you end up no wanting to etry as all you get is taken by the gov and given to others. They say france and Canada are that way. That's what I heard.
Kind of like say Hillary or some democrats wanting to give everybody free health care. Now ones that can afford have it and ones that work and cannot afford have to make ends meet or get charity from others and hospitals, then you have the ones on medicare and free deal medicaid. They say it would cost a zilion dollars and ruin the system here. For instance in France or canada they say that you might have to
wait three months for an operation and not enough doctors and etc. I don't know what the answer is, but here anyone can get help at hospitals, that's why people are yelling about aliens paying no taxes and getting stuff free from the government. So that is a form of Social. take care.

Because the Soviet Union was always held up as an example of socialism but it was in fact an autocracy with Stalin as the new Tsar.
The traditional ruling class hate socialism because it gives more power to the ordinary people of the country and provides a more equitable society with such things as free healthcare, schooling and state pensions for retired people.
Some countries where socialism has been successful at various times are the UK, Sweden, France and Australia.
Even Cuba can give the world lessons about a good and free healthcare system

What i can't figure out is why the democracies of the world are based on capitalism with a growing divide between the rich and poor; and are the 'good' side of the force (so to speak)....while the communists are for the workers and are socialistic; and are considered the 'evil' side of the force. You'd think it would be the other way around.

I am not so sure the word you were searching for is afraid. I am not afraid of either party. I am disgusted by their beliefs. .
