I'm not a Yankee fan, I'm a baseball fan. I live an hour south of Cleveland so you are getting a baseball fans perspective whose favorite team is the Indians. That being said......
1. A-Rod: Incredible talent. He is one of the best players to come out of the "steroid era" and thank God none of it has gone onto him. He was not responsible for the poor hitting in the postseason this year, Sabathia and Carmona were on and Byrd was determined. If Boras wasn't his agent, I'd take him in a heartbeat.
2. Derek Jeter: First class all the way. His character and charisma is very good. I feel that he was the AL MVP in 2006. He had another great season this year. His instincts are top notch. Will you take Peralta for him?
3. Roger Clemens: You have to love his desire. All-time great. May be able to contribute for another year but he needs to attend spring training to make sure he is ready. He may have been able to avoid his injuries this year if he had attended spring training. Like Jeter, he is a first ballot Hall of Famer.

A Rod --> Extremely overrated & overpaid, average 3rd baseman, great offensively in regular season, chokes in post season. Best suited for another big market team without the pressure of playing in NY. Never liked the deal to get him to the Yankees.
Derek Jeter --> Life long Yankees fan, very good shortstop (one of the best playing today), clutch player (this post season excluded), team leader, handles the pressure of NY, one of only a few baseball players in history to have made post season every year of his career.
Roger Clemens --> Best years were with the Boston Red Sox, selfish, another deal I never liked when he came to the Yankees

A-ROD - MVP -no ring (the Carl Malone of baseball)
Derek Jeter - A Yankee for life (doesnt have the playoff pop anymore)
Roger Clemens - Retired. Chalk him up to another HOF pitcher born in Ohio! We breed em the best here.

AROD- one of the greats, underappreciated, gets blamed for being the sole reason the yankees cant win the WS which is ridiculous. also percieved as a selfish team wrecker since he hasnt won a WS which is also stupid considering he played for seattle and texas which means he never had a chance. went to new york where average players are paid above average salaries and expected to win every year. ex. Abreu, Giambi, Damon. needs to have a big post season soon or will always be labled a choker.
Jeter- Yankee captain, past his prime but still one of the elite. normally comes through in the clutch, not counting this year.
Clemens- Way past his prime, needs to retire, one of the greatest of all time. wants one more shot at glory but his body wont allow it.
