I gotta go with Ray Stevens on this one. Jerry is a good picker but Ray has just recorded more songs with different themes. Ray can sing something slow such as "Everything Is Beautiful" then do something wild like "Guitarzan". Ray just has a broader scope that Jerry does.

I work with Jerry Reed's cousin, but I have to vote for Ray Stevens. Actually, Jerry Reed didn't have that many hits. His role in Smokey and the Bandit did more for him than Amos Moses. Where as Ray has had many many hits. Ray's performance on stage, the way he acts his songs out is outstanding and he still performs in Branson. I've never heard of Reed performing any of his comedy on stage. So definately Ray Stevens. Plus, I'm a Shriner, so I guess I'm a little prejudice.

It's a toss up. Ray Stevens generally has done more humorous songs than Jerry Reed but he has also done his share of serious songs like "Mr. Businessman" and "Everything Is Beautiful".
