Shaving is probably the cause of your problem. The cut-off hairs have blunt, scratchy tips. Natural hair has soft, tapered tips, which feel silky instead of sharp. And pubic hair helps air circulate in the area. With no hair the sweat stays on your skin longer and bad bacteria and fungus grow like crazy. The gunk growing on your denuded skin causes the bad smell. Use an anti-fungal powder and let the hair grow out, and you should be fine. Shaving is very unhealthy for the skin. Do NOT use anti-bacterial soap, as that kills the "good" bacteria that helps keep fungus from growing, and most of the stink comes from fungus.

Good luck. And from now on only use a razor from the neck up.

it could be a combination of things.

First off, once you are well into puberty you need to shower daily. PLus if you are physically active you need to shower after gym class, a workout, running or any other activity (including sex and masturbation) that gets you hot and sweaty. Being sweaty and dirty down there can cause various problems including itchiness.

Second, shaving pubic hair can often lead to itchiness both immediately after the shave as well as a day or three later when the hair is regrowing out to the stubble stage. Right after shaving, dry well and apply a nice moisturizer to minimize any discomfort or itch. And shave regularly enough so as not to let the stubble to get too long.

Alos some guys just find they are itrchy in the pubic region for no particular reason other than they have hair there. So if that is the case, feel free to trim or shave to make it less uncomfortable.

It is your hair and you are free to let it look dirty and messy or keep it clean and neat. But to avoid problems and not turn off too many people, I do suggest being meticulous about cleaning and at least trim for appearance sake. Also to avoid always being seen scratching your crotch, celaning and trimming or shaving miught be a wise choice (unless of course you like drawing everyone's attention to your crotch itch - hehe).

If you've shaved, that could be causing the itching. When you shave, it cuts the hair off at an angle, so when it grows back in, it can be irritating to your skin.

Could be sweat. Sweat also makes it smell badly.
