well first I kind of like the trip it's fun ( but un comfy)

and when I go to a different place like : the Philippines, Ireland, Rome ( some places I've gone) it is so great learning about how these people live and it's nice to have different food, maybe learn a little of the language, and it is so fun, and learning the history, seeing sites It is sooooo fun!

Plus you get to have a break from what you are doing to go out of the state or country. You get away from your normal routine and get some culture

And you can see what things that are wrong with your life and what we take for granted

I LOVE TO TRAVEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what you would learn about music in Europe
( be more specific Europe is a huge place!)

but you can hear the different kinds of music and instruments, that's always fun for me! Still it's not like they only listen to their old culture music, I went to a wedding in Ireland and they played hips don't lie etc

Being in the same place gets boring. There's no diversity in your own country or what's diversity to you at least. You learn about the people and the country and the culture and you learn that the world is still a big place even with billions of people jammed on it. No two places are ever the same so every new place you go you're getting a new experience. It's kind of like a roller coaster - there's a thrill that you've never experienced before.

It's so exciting to step off a plane to a different language, smells, customs. Most places have a much longer history than the US, so you can find buildings that are 600 years old or older. The food is different than you would make it, you might not know the language that well, and most people in most countries are very forgiving if you are at least trying to speak their language. In downtown Dusseldorf, there's the remains of a castle that was once in the city downtown, but now all that remains after WWII is a turret. In Florence it's 414 steps to the top of the bell tower next to the Duomo. I've haggled with street vendors over prices, paid $6.50 (approx) for a can of Sprite-but the view was so worth it. I've shopped in Murano where the finest glass artists work. I've ordered the wrong food, and then my friend had to correct my order, but at least I've tried. I've also ordered a pizza correctly in Germany. The history for many countries that we learn about is sadly very abbreviated, there's so much we don't know about. There are two types of castles, the war castles that you know about, and types that are very lavish weekend retreats, some only 150 years old. In London, about all you find is whipped cream without the sugar. There's just too much to tell you at one time!

wow so much
different languages to start with
different laws-if they have any
how poor other countries are compared to US
you learn about how in other countries people have to work twice or three times as hard as they do here
its fun because your dollars are worth more in their country
food is so different -they actually have to kill the chicken in front of you and then cook it
most of the things you buy at the store here
they raise it or have it growing in their yards
its even cooler when the people are nice and wlcome you in
teaching you their customs
their stories different
their clothing and fashion is interesting
and you learn to manage their money
-and get ripped off if your not careful lol
:)

but most importantly i think you grow an appreciation
towards everything you have and where you came from
after watching how poeple live in other countries
:)

Being American, I learned how obnoxious Americans really are. We're very loud people even if we don't mean to be.

What I loved about going to other countries was learning about their history, their art, and of course their people. I even met fantastic homless people in Europe. There was one homeless man in Oslo we met on the tram, and he spoke better English than most Americans. He asked us about "the trees that are big enough to drive a car through." And was amazed that they actually existed.

Everything.
First, its not all about people, but about nature. Ive camped in the Amazon, swam with sealions in the Galapagos Islands, photographed bears in Canada.. The scenery, species, and ecosystems in other countries are different very worth experiencing.

As for cultural differences, its fun and interesting to see totally different societies. I visited a villiage in the Amazon with no electricity, no running water.. A woman stopped me because she wanted to trade for my ball point pen, which, to her, was a valuable commodity. Other cultures can seem quite charming, especially compared to the Walmart/McDonalds/TV culture of America.

Travel enables you to have a global view of issues and people. If you are a tourist you are only getting a small slice of the culture. I believe that knowledge in any form is always a good thing.

My answer would be very short and to the point. If you want to know a nation and its people, you have to travel there. You cannot get to know the world by looking at travel magazines.
