This question came to mind as I was studying for an exam, and I looked at Occam's razor for what seemed like the hundredth time.

I've been told of entropy and Occam's razor numerous times, but no one's ever explained both of them in the same thought. At first glance, they seem to be in conflict with one another. What are your thoughts on it?

Occam's Razor is really a philosophical, not a scientific principle, and so it's not directly constrained by thermodynamics. But you could consider that a) thermodynamics tells us that all systems seek their state of lowest energy, and b) Occam's Razor says to choose the simplest reasonable explanation, which is sort of the lowest-energy theory.
