OK, me and 2 other kids in my class are doing a project in history where we are supposedly being sent by a European nation into North America to set up a colony, and I'm in charge of writing a "letter" back to the king and queen of our country telling them of our voyage and how we started our colony. The problem is, I don't know how everyone else is doing their letter, and I don't want to come in with a big extravegent letter while everyone else's is really short and simple. I want to make it good, but not too detailed or too simple. How can I write this?

Better to do too much than not enough! Do it exactly how you would interpret the instructions to be. If you really don't want to stick out, pull out your student directory and call some people in you class and ask them how they are doing it. They are probably wondering the same thing.

Write extravagantly, I can almost guarantee your teacher won't take off for it being too long.

hi, i hate how people say dont kill yourself think of your mother, its most likely the last thing you will be thinking of right now, i sympathise because i can not talk to my mother about my problems even though i love her and i feel so alone at times and consider killing myself too, just the other day i was considering taking an overdose. I think you should get help if your feelings are this bad. you need to see your doctor. if nothing has happened to trigger your depression it could be your thyroid or a chemical im-balance in your body, i have one of these problems and im getting help for it. depression is a very hard thing to over come and a lot of peoples oppinion on the subject are pretty poor and they have no idea how you are feeling, they truly cant comprehend it at all and usually call you pathetic or selfish, but your not! your going through a really hard time, i dont know what has happened but its effecting you seriously. remember its alright to cry and even though you might feel so alone there will be at least one person or dream to live for, hold on to it untill you get the right treatment. also dont feel bad for not being able to cope with life, try and relax and do things you enjoy while your feeling like this. what i do is try to figure out what i want and need out of my life to be happy and work towards it a little at a time. your not going crazy its normal to be drepressed dont feel ashamed and get help, you cant cope alone.

I say you should get very detailed, if every one else's is short and simple yours will really stand out. Maybe you should do more research on "Europeans and colonist" to have a perfect paper. Do something very interesting, I'm nit saying write s three page letter but one good page or a good page in a half.
Good Luck! Let me know how it turns out.

Here is John Smith of Jamestown's "Description of New England." It's 32 pages long but you can get an idea of what you might want to write.

start out with good setences that grab attention. DO a normal longish short paper and if it isn't long enough in your cases. Make pauses between paraghraphs. If it is to long then you get extra credet.
