No, you can't. You will need a gamecube controller and gamecube memory card to play gamecube games on the wii. :)

About half of you are wrong and half are right. First off, you cannot use the regular Wiimote or Nunchuk, you must use the gamecube controller. If you would like to save, just insert a gamecube memory card. But, there is an exception, if you buy a special wii controller you can play gamecube games, and games you bought with wii points like donkey kong. The wii controller is like a regular gamecube controller and isnt like the wiimote. You could probably get the special controller at best buy, circuit city or radioshack. Hope this helps! XD

No, only the Gamecube controller but the Virtual Console does let you play differnt games with the Wii Remote, Gamecube controller, and Classic controller.
If you have a Wii upadte it to v.3.1, Just saying
And if you are looking forward for the twillight of the princess for gamecube don't just buy it for Gamecube buy it for the wii so you can play with the nunchuck and the wii remote!

You need to either use a gamecube controller that plugs right into the Wii, or i believe you can use the Classic Controller that plugs into the Wiimote like the nunchuk does

i work in gamestop and i noe that thats not possible but u can if you use regular gamecube control or the wii classic controller that cost 20 bucks. wii shop channel games can be used with the wiimote
