A friend and I were broke. It was Christmas eve, and we failed to buy a gift for our girlfriends. Suddenly, we saw a large package on the back end of a car. We grabbed it and ran all the way to his house, gift-wrapped it, just in time for our double dates with the ladies. We had no idea what was in the box. When they opened it, it was a huge box of 100 assorted jams and jellies of the world! They laughed, and especially when we said we were too broke to buy a loaf of bread to eat it with. OK, OK...here's the rest of the story....I later went back to the home where we grabbed the gift. I confessed. My friend was too much of a chicken to come with me...I paid twice the value of the package. Luckily, they found mercy and humor in what we had done and accepted the price as more than reasonable.
