My kids were playing in front of the house earlier this week, when a man pulled over, got out of his truck, opened the door & was trying to get them to go inside, go with him.

They were smart. They ran in to dad who called the police.

But, now, we're trying to help the police find him, so that he doesn't prey on another kid who might not be so lucky or so smart.

They both agree that it was a dark blue pickup truck. But, they are 6 & 7 & not very familiar with different kinds of vehicles. It may be some other kind of truck, but they don't have the right words to describe it.

Here's how my son describes it, though - it was square in front, with a fence around the back. The fence was metal on the bottom, but has wood on the sides.

He drew me a picture. It shows a rectangle in front, with the driver sitting right over the front wheels. There is no engine sticking out front, it's flat in front of the driver & he says that that is how it was - flat in front, no engine.

Behind the front rectangle, there is a space, then there is a rectangle on it's side (lengthwise) with two more wheels beneath that. He says that he thinks there might have been a space between the part where the driver sat & the back part with the 'fence' - hooked on kind of like a trailer.

They both agree that it was not any taller than our Ford Econoline van.

Any idea what make of truck this might be? This is in the US, by the way - it would have to be a truck that's available in the US (although any clues right now would be great!)

Thank you!

Try and sit down at the computer and look at truck images. It might point you in a better direction than the drawn picture as children see things from a different perspective and draw from that perspective. Wood on the sides and metal on the bottom might mean burlwood sides or even a wood frame with metal anchors. Look at moving company rental websites like Ryder. I believe they have some cab over trucks. Also find out if the car looked new or old. I hope this helps and you find this criminal.

I can tell you that it's what's called a "Cab-over" It's the term used to descibe the trucks that place the driver over the front wheels. The most popular one of these in the US is a Mitsubishi Fuso. Although I believe this would be a bit bigger than your van. The fence you're children are describing sounds like it has a "Rack-truck" type body. I hope this helps. I do have to say that you've taught your children well. Have your kids take a look at thishttp://www.130rider.com/MITSUBISHI%20FUSO%20FU416U%20cargo%207.JPG
