Im in My Personal Opinion uhh HELL NO , With all do respect to LaRussa but He Just Does Not Fit in New York , I dont Think he could Handle it . Being The Manager for The Yankees is not a Walk in the Park

Thats just What i Think the "Boss" George Steinbrenner will Decide what to do

No, he cant handle the New York. Most players crumble under the pressure of New York. Larussa likes his small budget NL teams and thats were hell stay : NL.

I don't think Steinbrenner is going to end up firing Torre. If he does, he's going to end up pulling a Martin '77 and hire him back 20 thousand times. If Steinbrenner cares about keeping Mariano Rivera, which you know he does, and since Mo has stated that Torre staying or leaving is going to affect his decision, then he'll keep Torre.
As for LaRussa. I don't favor that decision in the least. I worry about the pressures of New York with everybody that puts on the uniform. The manager has to run the team and worry about EVERY player. New York is not the place for Tony.

The Boss has been in ill health and I feel as if he doesn't have any real power in making decisions; regardless of his published quotes. Even a couple years ago he would have had a press conference at the stadium on such a matter. Now, we are lead to believe he is calling the shots in a phone interview.

La Russa has expressed an interest in the job, but he is waiting on the Cards to hire a new GM - will he remain a good fit with the club - and for Torre to be let go, if that does happen.

If La Russa doesn't return to the Cards, he will be managing somewhere next season....rarely do future hall-of-fame managers stay in the unemployment line for very long.

I think he's the front runner. The only knock against him is the fact that he might not be able to handle being in NY. The other tow are Joe Girardi and Don Mattingly. The Boss isnt a big fan of Girardi but he is good. Then there's Don Mattingly who will have the job eventually but not now cause hes only been a bench coach for 1 year. La russa is their only option

LaRussa won't get the job.
As I just said in another question, I think Joe Girardi will get the job. The longshot favorite is Lou Piniella.

LaRussa might have George axed the 2nd he opened his mouth for the 1st time. Girardi likes the baseball sales area too lots to bounce returned onto the sphere. seems such as you're caught.

Just keep Joe Torre on. It isn't his fault that dumbass A-ROD can't come through.
