Nowadays, we use the little four letter words to describe most of our emotions, like sh*t and f*ck, and to describe other people. Before, we used to use nice metaphors and comparisons. We blame the lack of modern creativity on televisions and such, but in reality, we just don't use it in our everyday language. What do you think?

Will you be my friend? I totaly side with you, I wish people used the english language like they used to. it was so poetic and romantic...(I'm reffering to 1600s-1930s). people used to be so polite and friendly. I hope you know this has been my favorite question to answer all day.

REGUARDING THE ANSWER ABOVE:
I think its not only laziness but because people dont read as much. we dont use other words because we simply dont know any other word to use.

its laziness and those words use to be bad word so there is something that is always appealing on something you should do /say.. right? at least to some degree..
I asked this same question even wrote a song about it.
why can someone think and find a different word of expression!

I don't know about that. I think people were a little too verbose before.

(I'm not a big fan of flowery language).
