Having to live through 6 years of my life (And then the subsequent 3 years moving and living in a home for victims of abusive relationships) from about the of 11 with having nightmares every single night because of a mentally and physically abusive man in the house.

He was a taxi driver and he'd have every Tuesday off at night - Tuesdays were the nights I dreaded with a passion, so much so that the fear was instilled in my mind and prevented me from sleeping normally the other 6 nights.

I never had a proper childhood, my life was predominantly based around my in my bedroom drawing. The depression that followed when I realised the world was such an awful place was horrific.

Thankfully, those 6 years, plus 3 years of getting over it all, as well as turning my back on my useless Dad (He wasn't the abuser - my Dad left when I was about 6), have made me a much stronger and confident person. I've even worked for the Samaritans helping people to get through their depression. I can really sympathise with how people who are truly depressed feel, with hope and seemingly no feelings.

No religion, no one really to turn to apart from my Mum who was also going through it. Just me, and me alone. That's the way it will always be!
