They don't fine you. You fine yourself. You may think a GED will be fine later.... not.

If you wish to toss your entire life out later for a year go for it. You made your choice and when you are say 30 and regret it well that is your choice. When you grow up and want a spouse, children, a house and a nice job and later go "I should have stayed"...... your choice.

In this day and age dropping out means you lose. Stick to it and join the military after. But you won't huh. You have already set yourself up mentally for a marginal life and picked loser mode if you are thinking of dropping out.

Nope, in California you won't be able to drop out of faculty till 18. If it grow to be legal and additionally you probably did drop out, in in step with threat 10 or 20 years you will possibly look back and think of that grow to be the dumbest difficulty to do. yet wager what. infrequently all and sundry likes college. i do unlike college. yet i'm no longer likely to drop out because of the fact i might like a respectable paying activity. with a view to get a reliable paying activity at the instant in this financial gadget (fantastically a reliable paying activity in California as each little thing is greater costly there) you go with a severe college degree. in case you have no coaching to placed on your resume for jobs then maximum in all threat employers won't settle for you. only draw close in there for 2 greater years. that's going to be over precise away. :)

Why in the **** would you drop out at 16?!?!? You are 2-3 years from being done with it. I know school sucks but you have been in for 10 years and you flush graduation down the toilet with 2-3 to go. That doesn't make any sense it's just STUPID. With out a diploma you will never get a job that will allow you to support yourself. It's almost impossible without a college degree now.

Even if it was legal, why would a 16 year old want to drop out of school? It's a free education that will make chances of getting a better job in the future much more attainable. I wish college and graduate school were free! Don't take free public school for granted. You are very lucky that tax payers haven't yanked away your free education. Would you turn down free health care too if it was handed to you on a silver platter? I'm pretty sure you wouldn't.

I see. A thumbs down.
Edit: 2

Well, if you want to be a loser really bad, I'm not gonna stop you. I'll still be nice to you when I go through the drive through at Taco Bell in my shiney new porsche that my education paid for.

I don't know about that, but I DO that dropping out of school is a HUGE mistake. Who wants to hire someone and pay more than minimum wage to someone who can't even complete high school? I don't mean that as an insult. That is what a perspective employer thinks. Come on! Don't sell yourself short! You can get through it! My son failed EVERY class last year. This year he is making Bs and Cs AND taking night classes to make up last year's credits. He goes to school 10-12 hours a day because he KNOWS $8/hour will NOT get him what he wants in life.

YOU CAN DO IT! DON'T GIVE UP!

Depends on the state. Most of them don't bother trying to enforce attendance at age 16. In order to be fined, the police would have to charge you, and the court would have to prove its case. If the law doesn't require you to attend school after you reach 16, then there is nothing to fine you for.
