To be quite honest, I got married when I was 16 and he was 17. We dropped out of high school, and had a baby. I only knew if as a good friend for about 2 years in school but as a couple only 3 weeks and we had sex, four months later we found out I was pregnant. Think this sound dumb or crazy? It is! However, We are still married, 8 years and two children later we love each other more than we did when we got married. We both have our GED's and good careers. I am very happy with my choice. I love my husband. The only reason we got married is because we thought it was the right thing to do with me being pregnant and all. We made it this far, I hope it last a while longer!
Are you married? Why did you get married?

I thought I was in love, both times. Looking back...the first time I didn't know him long enough to know anything about him to know if I loved him (I knew him 4 months and married him.) The second man I lived with for 10 years before I married him and I just thought I had so much time and energy invested in him that I might as well make it official. Wrong decision both times. Next time I will marry a man that I truly consider my best friend. Only true friends can make it happily through life together and compromise because they want what is best for both parties.

I got married because I was young, immature, selfish, and fearful of being alone.

Needless to say that it did not work out so well. Today we are divorced, but remain Friends. When I do marry again, I will be much better prepared for having learned the lessons life taught me.

Good luck.

After spending some time with my wife prior to getting married, I knew she was the one I wanted to share my life with. She has a great personality, great sense of humor, she's very caring and loving, and the list goes on and on....

Because I cannot imagine my life without my husband, I had a past that I didn't like to share with anyone and felt guilty all the time...but for some reason my husband knows everything about me, and I am totally comfortable with being goofy around him. God I am love...

We should have discussed more things such as that I greatly desired children and that career was real important to her long before we even moved in together
after separation, I remained friends with her parents more than with her (part of our problems was that her parents always seemed to take my side in arguments that became public)

I couldn't find any reason not to. He had all the qualities I wanted in a spouse, there was no point in prolonging the engagement, families agreed, both finished our courses, both in the same country, friends for a long time, so I knew him well. In short, it was the right time for us.
