I just don't think that there is another explanation. It doesn't matter who we bring in, every player chokes when they are in a Cub's uniform. After 62 years of not even winning a pennant, saying that it's "a coincidence" or, "they just suck", is complete bull$hit.

I'm not convinced it's a curse as much as a self-fulfilled prophecy.
If you tell yourself you're cursed long enough you will begin to believe it.

The Cubs have not had good management for much of the past century. They were slow to get on the integration bandwagon, which seemed to cost them much of the 1950's and 1960's. The daytime home games may have -- may have -- taken something out of the players over the years. They've made bad trades (Lou Brock) and had some bad luck, but usually you get the results you deserve.

That said, we might be telling a different story now if Mark Pryor and Kerry Wood had turned out to be injury-free. They might have won a championship at some point in this decade.

Yes. They are cursed with bad players, incompetent and inept management, and fans foolish enough to believe this crap about a curse. QUIT making excuses! This is why people hate the Cubs and their fans.

Yeah, the Curse of horrible owners.

@ Mike SB- Us Chicagoans are greedy when it comes to sports. New Yorkers just want 27 Championships for the Yankees, we want 27 Championships for each of our teams.

Lakers! Come on, trade Kobe! When need another 6!

No it is because they don't have enough talent. A curse is a good excuse if you have the best team and you never win but its not a curse if your team is a couple games over .500.

of course they are cursed.. the original billy goat curse, but now doubly cursed since the dolt skinned the billy goat and hung it from harry carays arm outside of wrigley after the cubs lost the other night.... thank that guy.. and everyone thought bartman was bad.....

Baseball is full of superstition. If it helps you sleep at night thinking they are cursed as opposed to that they just suck, then they're cursed.

That's bullshit. People said the same thing about both the Red Sox and White Sox until two years ago, and they were able to overcome it.

No, actually, they are my favorite team so I would never think they are cursed. I think they need a new coach, it might help them.
