I have to do a video media and i need to use a song for it. i was thinking of using:

Umbrella- Rihanna

Please help me. I don't know if these songs are copyright. Is there any way i can use them without it being copyright?

not only are the songs copyright, but so are the CD recordings. If this is a school project, then fair use provisions apply and you should be able to use them. If this is for Utube internet distribution, then it would infringe both the music composer and the recording company. composers usually are quite understanding, but record companies (RIAA) will go ballistic.
