I have some quotes and a couple of poems that I like and I'll be glad to share them with you.
“ If you don’t know where your going.
Any road will take you there.”
George Harrison
The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance;
the wise man grows it under his feet.
Never mistake knowledge for wisdom, one helps you make a living,
the other helps you make a life.
James Oppenheim
You don’t get harmony when everybody sings the same note.
If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.
Doug Floyd
Learn to pause . . . or nothing worthwhile will catch up to you.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away.
“ If you can read this thank a teacher and since it’s in English, thank a soldier !! ”
Fun Quotes. some not so nice but funny.
I’m in for a good time,
not a long time.
My aim is to keep this bathroom clean.
Your aim would help.
Nobody listens to me,
until I fart.
There is a town in Alaska that has very few women
and lots of single men, but the women have a
humorous saying concerning all of the men in town.
The odds are good
but
the goods are odd.
I Love You More Today
Than Yesterday.
Yesterday You Really Pissed Me Off.
I smile because you are my sister.
I Laugh because there is nothing
you can do about it.
If at first you don’t succeed, do it like your mother told you.
I always take copies of this poem to family re-unions, just for a laugh.
SUZY LEE
Pappy.s gal Suzy Lee fell in love.
She planned to marry Joe.
She was so happy bout it all,
She told her pappy so.
Pappy told her, “Suzy Gal”
You’ll have to find another.
I’d just as soon yo ma don’t know,
But Joe is yo half brother.
So Suzie forgot about herJoe
And planned to marry Will,
But after telling pappy this
He said “there’s trouble still”.
You can’t marry Will, my gal,
and please don’t tell yo mother,
Cause Will and Joe and several mo
I know is yo half brother.
But Mama knew and said,
“Honey chile, do what makes yo happy.
Marry Will or marry Joe,
You ain’t no kin to pappy!”
This is my most favorite poem. I have it hung on our wall with our picture and our marriage licence.
Take my hand and walk with me,
across the sands of time;
Hand in hand and heart to heart.
Husband . . . friend of mine.
We will share the solitude.
And walk in quiet peace.
My heart hears what your heart says,
it listens when yours speaks.
We’ve shared hearts and souls as one,
in perfect harmony;
The laughter and the tears we’ve known,
Are the sweetest melody.
For years have brought us to this place.
Across the sands of time;
We’ll walk together, till the end.
Husband . . . friend of mine.
Hope you enjoy them. I have shared them many times on yahoo answers.
Thanks for the good question.

This isn't the answer, but here are some interesting poets: Charles Buchkowski and Jorge Borges. Would you like a Borges poem? Couldn't find him, this will have to do:
To his Coy Mistress
Had we world enough, and time,
This coyness, Lady, were no crime,
We would sit down and think which way
To walk and pass our love's long day.
Thou by the I ndian Ganges' side
Should'st rubies find: I by the tide..... Andrew Marvell
This isn't a poem I know, but I liked its points and its meter as I was just flipping through a book. I didn't finish it b/c I'm not much of a typist.
"I remember, I remember"
I remember, I remember
The house where I was born,
The little window where the sun
Came peeping in at morn;
etc. Thomas Hood
....
Hello Hello
You say hello and I say Goodbye- the Beatles, right?

Here is one of my favorite poems:
Every time i close my eyes,
I think of all your lies.
You played me from the very start ,
took advantage& broke my heart.
You never ment a word you said,
u just messed with my head.
You hurt me in the strongest way,
And in my heart this pain will stay.
At first I thought this was meant to be,
But all its been is a misery.
For this hurt there is no cure,
For this hurt I must endure.
I hope you like it.

I don't know if you are a big fan of this one but it's a gangsta, sentimental, friendship poem I found.
Ghetto latinas for life,
We ride to the top,
If any B*****s start crap,
you know I got your back!
We've gone through the good & the bad times,
Dont let the bad stay on your mind,
We always find something to laugh about,
We gonna stay homies for life, no doubt
When ever you got problems on your mind,
I'm here for you, don't wanna see you cry,
When it comes to guys that's what ever!
But remember friends are forever
You're my girl, Imma stay by your side!!!
Ya know we gon' ride till we die!!!
