yes, but it depends on your definition of torture. Torture by definition is the infliction of intense pain (as from burning, crushing, or wounding) to punish, coerce, or afford sadistic pleasure. Some conservatives say that torture is not torture unless it damages someone. This is ridiculous. Torture means to inflict pain.

Far too many people hit the "report it" button on Yahoo simply because they disagree with points made in a question or answer. It seems that yahoo's current policy is to hand out a violation if more than two people report something, whether it's a genuine violation or not. It seems that those who make perfectly reasonable and inoffensive points get punished, while activists of the extreme right, who often make offensive and/or racist comments, seem to get away with breaking as many Yahoo community guidelines as they please. It makes you wonder if Yahoo are as unbiased in these matters as they claim.

I am a conservative and I am most definitely against torture .I think our current policy of ¨outsourcing¨ torture to less scrupulous countries disgusting. Soon we won't have to do that because the way things are going we'll be able to do it right here in the U.S....probably on Fox news.

Neocons and religious fundamentalists are wolves in sheep's clothing -they are not conservatives, although they shelter under that fleece.

I'm a Republican not a conservative and yes, torture the bastards. They are insurgents and terrorists and deserve to be skinned alive. Make em suffer for those virgins.

I think this stuff began with Von Rumsfeld. The idea was that by " taking off the gloves, we could brutally get really useful information out of captives and prisoners.
But secretly I think they really get off on this level of degrading violence and brutality. We have goons and fascists running the show and have had for the past 6 years.
God forgive Amerika.

Only if the lives of innocent Americans are at stake. Or would you rather preserve the civil rights of a person planning their deaths?

Look, if it'll save lives, do it.

They sure as hell don't treat our people any better.

Remember what happened to those private security contractors in 2003? They were murdered, burned, mutilated, dragged through the streets and hung from bridges. Others that were captured were beheaded.

So we use a little pain to get information... it's still a heck of a lot better than what they do to us.

I quote George Carlin about torture, "It's a great way to get information."

Lots of filthy idealists here.

Tell me, who was tortured?

No, not "prisoners", give me a name.

Who tortured him? No, not "outsourced foreign operatives", give me a name.

When? (date), Where? (no not GITMO unless you answer the other questions)

Seems to me that there is a real lack of information here.

So, when did you stop beating YOUR wife?

When?
