Tears are falling all around
Ancient words appear once again.
I hear someone is calling me,
Please open eyes, let me see.
The words I see amaze me
Truth is revealed by the wisdom,
Like my spirit being set free,
I hold onto you, so I can see.
I'm always awake so late at night,
From the nightmares of my past.
Crossroads after crossroads that I have faced,
Fighting myself day after day after day.
Sometimes I see it lost in my eyes
Burdens from my terrible past.
I know where I am, I know where I've been,
Still I feel so lost and alone.

I guess your perfect day was about as peachy as mine. Why is it that sometimes the past is more powerful than the present? And what do you say to people when they tell you to forget the past, when it is all the memory wrapped up in all the emotions that make us who we are? And I just once would love to hear someone say "I love you for who you are. Don't change a thing." But no one will, because they only look at the surface,or they believe they can make you into the image they want you to be.
Thanks for sharing morbid depressing stuff with me. Don't ever change. I like you just the way you are.

Why would someone criticise? This is a great poem. Poetry is all about your feelings so write them. It would be good for you to write happiness to with your pen sometime.

Beautiful. Sounds like you could have been writing about the way my life was at times. It doesn't rhyme but true poetry is from the heart and the soul.

so learn how to have peace through the tough times, friend, because they will keep coming. If you look at them as opportunities to learn something or gain something, they aen't so bad...
