i dont think it comes down to WHERE you can go, but WHAT you can do...
such as: i love photography, so i go places to take photos at different times of the day, it makes me want to go and see places...
i love music, so i go to places where people are playing music, or take my guitar to play somewhere (not busking)
just find out your hobbies and interests and take them out of the house.

The nearest Hare Krishna Temple on Sunday nights. They have wonderful music and dance with mantra singing, and a free vegetarian feast after a short discourse on Bhagavad Gita. They are in every major city. Just look up ISKCON in you phone Book. It is an amazing time meant for everyone. Go with your friend you will have a great time. I love it.

The cemetary. It's quiet, it's clean and not many people mar the scenery.
If you're into photography or art, also a nice place for taking pictures and doing some simple sketches without getting disturbed.
