This is a very sobering article.

This man lost his son in Iraq: (Please read before answering)http://news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20071007bcusiraqfamilies_attn_national_editors_ytop

He is just one of the thousands of military family members who have lost a son, daughter, husband, wife, cousin, etc.

My point is this: The Modesto, Calif. , resident said he also knew that the Iraq war was working and that it must work or the deaths of his son and the more than 3,800 other members of the U.S. military would have been in vain.

Honestly now, are you taking that man's account, along with thousands of others into consideration before you scream for a "troop reduction". (Which is just a fancy way for saying cutting and running or capitulating to the Islamofascists.)

Whether the invasion of Iraq is justifiable or not is debatable.

However, since we're there, we might as well fight and finish this war aggressively.

So, we don't have to let the sacrifices of the over 3,000 dead U.S. service members and their families and friends won't be brushed away in vain.

What say you?

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

You libs who say you support the troops but not the war must think there is a "special " place in heaven just for you. Well ...there isn't a special place anywhere for you two-faced hypocrites. "I" call you two-faced because when the next terrorist bombing goes off and innocent Americans get killed you will be singing a different tune about how you feel. For some reason, you all seem to feel that this war is against the Iraqi people and that we are purposely whacking them. Our enemy is using them as a shield or out right killing them wholesale. These animals know are weaknesses and will use it against us. Wanting to stop this war against them they see as a weakness. They are like "Terminators", they wont stop...they never stop! Will it take one of your family to be killed by these animals to get you to see that just because they killed...it doesn't stop there? WE DIDN'T START THIS FIGHT>>>>BUT WE BETTER BE THERE TO FINISH IT OR IT WILL FINISH US AS A NATION!!
(think that one over)

Yes, I have understanding & compassion for all military families that have lost a love one or even just have one wounded. Bush at the beginning of the War on Terrorism, even before entering Afghanistan, said the War was going to be a long one.

Bush started his actions with Iraq in an attempt to make the U.N. relevant. They had placed sanctions on Iraq in attempts to get Saddam to change his ways. These sanctions had no affect on Saddam in part because he had no compassion for his people. The pain & suffering his people went thru he used as evidence that the US was being the bad guy.

What ever reason we went into Iraq other than to back up determination to be relevant is immaterial today. If we leave without the Iraqi people being better off than when we entered their country, it will come back to haunt US. The Iraqi people must feel that there is hope for their country. That they as individuals can & will make a difference. They need to see that THEIR INVESTMENT into their Country will show a Return On Investment.

The Press & The Left can Challenge the Iraqi people to value their country & their future, the Right can't. They are blocked by 2 items. The Press & The Left will simply say they are manipulating the people. The Muslims also that have a stake in the US losing will also say the Iraqis are being manipulated.

The Left is focusing on what the government is or isn't doing. The solution isn't at that level. Just like in the gang-infested areas in the US, the police can't take the neighbor hoods back from the gangs unless the locals are behind the police. No matter how much the Left preaches you are entitled; one never has more than (S)He creates for themselves, nor do they appreciate what that don't have some sweat equity in.

Don't forget how long it took the US to create their constitution AFTER they won the Revolution. Don't forget the outcome of the French Revolution. Yes they had a fledgling Democracy to look at, but theirs turned out much worst than the US's. The US had many small "Independant" governments up & running before the Revolution. France nor Iraq did!

I've seen several answers that have said that Iraq has never attacked the U.S. One even went so far as to call Iraq an innocent country. What would you call an assassination attempt on a sitting President? That alone was worthy of a declaration of war. It certainly warranted more than Bill Clinton's usual let's just shoot a missile at them response. Let's not forget all of those broken UN resolutions.

Nowhere in your question do you mention the Iraqi's who are dying in numbers at least 20 times higher than American soldiers. I never hear anyone like you discuss what is best for the Iraqi's.

Using the grief of a father in order to make a cheap political point is disgusting. How many more deaths do there have to be before the nearly 4000 so far are not in vain? The only way there will be peace in Iraq is if enough of the Iraqi's want it. That can't be achieved through military force.

I vote red. I vote conservative.

Liberal claim they can do a better job. Isn't funny they never join the military to prove it.

"...it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Hebrews 9:27

Since God never lies, how can the war be "the" fault of one dieing?

This is not the days of the Vietnam War. We do not have a draft anymore. Therefore, anyone joining the military these days can't say I didn't have a choice. The way the liberals speak about the war, one would think that everyone in the military these days were drafted.

If Israel benefits from this war, then thank God for it!

Up Date:

Mr. Morden stated, "I never hear anyone like you discuss what is best for the Iraqi's."

I have yet to hear the liberal media cover this issue either. However, early this year, one American soldier spoke about how the war was benefiting the Iraqi people. Because the liberal media didn't like his comments on how the Iraqi people were thanking people in his unit for being there, they called him an idiot among other words.

Those who do not want our soldiers to die in vain had better be damned scrupulous about the wars they send them to fight in.

It is now common consensus that this war should never have happened. Every second there compounds the original error. Every life lost there is in vain.

I am immensely sorry for the personal pain and sorrow of a a parent who loses a child. One shouldn't even have to say so. Compassion dictates that we sympathize with this man's(and with others like him) anguish.

I would like the war to end NOW so as to save many more families from experiencing this pain.

If Bush didn't send him over there in the first place, he'd still be here, wouldn't he???

As far as dying in vain goes, all death is vain. It doesn't matter if you're in the hospital for months, over in Iraq, or walking down the street and drop dead. The point is, it's death. There isn't anything in the world that's as vain as death.

And your idea of "finishing it aggressively"... I don't get it. What do we have to finish? What are we doing? Why the hell are we over there? Iraq had nothing to do with the original reason. Iraq is just... Iraq. It's a bad idea. Yes, we got Saddam out of power, but now what???

I don't think anyone's life will be in vain. And the thousands maimed? No, not in vain. Those brave kids died for the idea. They didn't know. Having more die isn't going to bring them back, or bring back faith in our government or from the rest of the planet. Wouldn't it just stink if some army came here and just started throwing Bush out of power and started making us believe in their way of life (which btw has been going for thousands of years longer than our way).

Let them live whatever way they want. If it is a life of human cruelty or injustice we have the UN. We are the US, not the UN. Lets take care of our own issues first.

I agree with Kelly B.! We should all be upset at every poltician who voted for this damned war! But I think all of this is a start of Armageddon and stuff so none of it really suprises me. I think this war was supposed to happen in the grand scheme of things.
