18 months of dating to get engaged.
2 to 2 & 1/2 years of dating/being engaged to marry.
Make sure your financially stable got a deposit for house or apartment , your own car a good job so your not financially depending on him no matter how much in love you think you might be thats not going to save you if it all turns sour.
Be frugal with your money , be brain smart to know you dont need a $100,000 engagement ring or a $10,000 wedding you dont need a honey moon that costs $20,000 , all the money people waste add it up $130,000 , thats definetly a huge downpayment on a house better to invest the cash in that then a day that wont go to plan anyways , so many time's we read or see on Dr Phil how bridezilla's ruin the day by wanting the princess weddings.
Good luck.

My husband and I dated 1 year and were engaged 8 months....have been married 4 years. You just know when its right.

At least a few. But more important is your own maturity. Do not get married until you learn your own value as a person. Also make sure you have mastered the art of forgiveness first. And last, you need to know what it means to be a selfless person before you can give yourself to another.
Good luck.

When you feel that you are ready. I got married when I was 16 and I was with the man for only 7 months. But we are still together 8 years now and going strong. You should follow your gut and do it when you feel you are ready. When you are ready, good for you. Until then, good luck

As long as you and your partner are ready! You have to make sure that you both love each other equally. I got married after 4 years of dating and we got married when we were both committed.

Depends on when you and your partner feel its right, I say its when your relationship is balanced, you have gotten to know inside and out of your 'love' and more. Gone through ups and downs, etc....but ppl I know get married about 3-6years of dating if you are looking for a time length really.

You never really get to know a person.
Then after you get to know them as well as you think you can, you learn more.
You have to have a "connection", not just a feeling of knowing them.

I'd wait until, oh, 82 or 83. Then at least you can say, "It's not my fault! I'm infirm! I'm 82!"
