When I had the parts I found that it did! By the way if that is you in your picture, you are just cute as a button! Back to the answer. I worked out quite a bit in my younger days; to the point of even an hour teaching aerobics 5 times a day! When I stopped with the Fitness Center, the cramps came back.

Having a strong core and toned muscle really helps to keep cramps at bay. Taking a good multi vitamin and multi mineral is a great idea too! Glad to help! Nana

To relieve mild menstrual cramps:

Take aspirin or another pain reliever, such as Tylenol (acetaminophen), Motrin (ibuprofen) or Aleve (naproxen). (Note: For best relief, you must take these medications as soon as bleeding or cramping starts.)
Place a heating pad or hot water bottle on your lower back or abdomen. Taking a warm bath may also provide some relief.
You should also:

Rest when needed.
Avoid foods that contain caffeine.
Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
Massage your lower back and abdomen.
Women who exercise regularly often have less menstrual pain. To help prevent cramps, make exercise a part of your weekly routine.

If these steps do not relieve pain, your doctor can order medications for you, including:

Ibuprofen (higher dose than is available over-the-counter) or other prescription pain relievers.
Oral contraceptives. (Women taking birth control pills have less menstrual pain.)

I seriously think walking in general helps. I get cramps in my legs, not my stomach so it does help me a lot. Even just walk in place while watching TV if the weather is crappy out. Also, doing crunches helps me too. Once I GET the cramps I usually soak in a hot bath. Hope this helps!

Actually, as difficult as this sounds, try walking WHILE you have cramps. Excercising warms the muscles up helps. Also, I've found the thermapads really work when you have bad cramps.

No. Although exercise does help with cramps, its something that needs to be done all of the time. If you walked everyday for instance, it could help.
