get yourself an in-tank net breeder, here are some examples

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=fish+net+breeder&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result&resnum=1&ct=title

put some breeding grass in the bottom, move you fish into the net, let her lay the eggs then remove her. feed the young baby brine shrimp and infusoria

remeber, google.com is your friend!

hope this helps!!!!

i would leave the female on one side of the divider and let her give birth there. Alot less chances of the fry getting eaten by 1 female rather than the whole tank. Hopefully you can catch the babies being born. When the female is done, simply remove the female and put her on the other side. House the babies on the divided side.

leave her in the section, but watch that she still has enough swimming room
Put some plants in that section for the fry to hid
In my experience, the female never ate the fry
But to be sure, just take her out when she's done birthing

The gestation period of livebearers is 28 days

Hope that helps
Good luck

If you want to save the babies, then, you should put her back in the other part of the aquarium to prevent the mommy from eating the baby. Also, if you want a highe rate of survival, provide some plants and some caves.

I agree with Braga.....I had mollies at one time...and she was a breeding machine....I was lucky and was able to catch her having the babies....I just kept her loose in the tank and caught the babies....and put them in a small birthing tank.......it just floats at the top of your tank...you can get a small one......If you plan to raise them.....Just be sure to let them get big enough....so the other fish won't recognize them as food ....and eat them...I've got all platies now that I've raised from birth......I've have so much fun with my tank.........Enjoy yourself....
