Yes, they gave me food when I was homeless and showed me how to survive on the streets.

I volunteer at a shelter for homeless abused women and children. Before that, I volunteered at a homeless shelter for anyone who needed it. I met some of the nicest people in these shelters.
I had car problems, the homeless men fixed my car for FREE.
The women helped me get my jobs done and offered to help any time.
Not all homeless people are lazy and uncaring. Many need a home, not insults.

Sure, they attempt to do little "nice" things all the time to earn tips and pennance.
A nice homeless man flagged down a cab for me very late at night in Pittsburgh one night and I tipped him like 5 bucs.

They help me realize how crappy life can get and make me thankful for life in general no matter how bad it may be. Always look on the bright side! Heck- if the grass actually *was* greener on the other side I'd journey there. But mostly it's a sickly brown color. So never get jealous of what others have and instead be content with your present being.

A homeless guy in DC gave me directions. I gave him $10, they were good directions.

This one homeless guy asked me for money, I offered him my banana, he refused to take it. That was nice of him because I wanted the fruit. Plus, I got to keep my money.

One homeless guy used to buy me beer, before I was 21. I would pull up to the store and he would come out of nowhere and I would give him like five bucks extra to keep. I think he lived in the park next to the store. We accidentally got him arrested, so that ended that.

Homeless people do nothing nice for anyone without expecting money in return. They have never done anything nice for me. Even though I have done nice things for them. Like once I gave one all my trash bags full of aluminum cans instead of putting them in the recycle bin, and another time I bought a bag of food for one of them. They are more interested in survival than in being nice.
