They did not offer wood shop in my high school to girls. My husband took it at his high school, it changed his life. He owns his Remodeling and Home Improvement Business. He is a very intelligent man (That for the person whose remarks were uncalled for, I was also a book nerd). He can do math and geometry in his head. Come up with designs that others would not dream of and all because of a high school wood shop. That wood shop has since been eliminated from the High School Program due to budget constraints. Shameful.

Yeah, it was pretty dangerous. Teacher had gas too. Back in the day, kids had sense to not put arms inside circular saws, but now sewing class is hazardous. Everything is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Yes. I attended two classes. I cut my finger to the bone and now the only time I think about building something with wood, is when I use glue and popsicle sticks.

I took wood shop. A saw fell on my head. Seriously. Someone put in the cupboard backwards, and it fell on my head........it wasn't that bad but my mom freaked when the nurse called her to tell her.

We do have one here at Robert E. Lee High School at Jacksonville, FL but it's been converted to a NJROTC room ironically.

the scariest thing you'll do in primary high school woodshop is use a bandsaw, which is only dangerous if you are completely retarded.
