Why is ISRAEL so much more ADVANCED than the ARABS that surround them?

I was in Israel last year. They have plumbing, hospitals, culture, free press advanced companies just like the USA. Then I went into Palestine and it was like the Flinstones.....only less Advanced....Why is that?

Education is the key. The core of the Jewish culture is education, to the point where Talmud says it is acceptable to close a synagogue to use as a school, but not the reverse. The cultural value of knowledge cannot be underestimated. Further, Jewish students are brought up in a culture where questioning established values is actively encouraged.

The Palestinians, on the other hand, come from a culture that distains all education not directly related to the study of the Koran, and regard questioning the interpretations their elders put on the Koran as blasphemy. The cultural damage of ignorance and superstition should not be underestimated, either.

It must be said that the various peoples that make up the Islamic world were not always this way. The civilizations that Islam conquered had vibrant and viable cultures which took centuries for superstition to erode. Before the fundamentalists succeeded in making their whole world ignorant, the Persian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures flowered under rulers like Haroun al Raschid, and scholars such as Ptolmey and Omar Khayam did great work that exceeded anything their Christian contemporaries were capable of.

Further, individual Islamics have, through their persoanl dedication to knowledge and a willingness to work, achieved a great deal on their own. Sadly, in the fundamentalist view they are considered too western, and are often killed for it.

Before we start feeling smug, consider what our own fundamentalists are trying to do. The refusal to allow stem cell research on the grounds of some religious interpretations is no less ignorant than the decision to dismantle the Farsi irrigation system.

To the above, let it be added that the Jews have been given every incentive to sacrifice for their homeland. Neither Christian nor Arab have been very welcoming, and the Jews are tired of dying without a struggle. They work as hard as they are able, and sacrifice time and tax dollars for their country that would have most Americans screaming in outrage. Their patriotism is second to none.

Well basically our goverment gives them hell lot of $$$ thats y.They aint anything special or advanced just they receives aids while other countries like lebanon,syria palestine dont.PLus another reason in case of palestine is simply because they bomb the crap out of them and probably doing it as im typing.I can see u are racist towards arabs and in love with the zionists but they are nothing without us.

To answer u question its simply because of our current administration who have a similar mind like urs (thats why we hate em so much) supports Israel and sends em billions of $$ of aids and advance weaponaries so they could destroy palestine and lebanon and potentially syria. If u really been there why not just move to Israel it would be much better with 1 less zionist/redneck in america.

three reasons:
1) Israel is a Parliamentary democracy, the Arabs have Presidents for life(=dictators), kings, or sheiks(=princes)

2. Israel has a capitalist economy, the Arabs have no econ my save for oil

3. Israelis are educated and a proxy European country surrounded by Muslims stuck in a 7th century ideology

Besides, when the Soviet Union broke up and a large number of Jewish people escaped, thousands of them were engineers and other University-educated people.
Ex: the Tel Aviv symphoney orchestra is one of the best in the world, 2/3's of them are former Moscow symphony members.

jews in general are tend to be pretty smart (no offence to other ppl-seriously)

like the jews are 0.3 percent of the world population (13 million of 7 billion) yet 43% (!!!!!!!) of the nobel prize winners are jewish!!!

but to be honest a part of israels success (not a huge part like other ppl r saying) comes from americas aid....

The arabs focus on one thing: Islam, which itself isn't conducive to a productive society. They have all the money in the world because of their oil; if they didn't have oil there would be nothing there but sand. Israel began as a nation again in the late 1940's and now have the most deadly military and the most advanced society, even though they have almost no oil and have to deal with wild eyed Mohamed freaks trying to blow them up every single day.

Plus Israel bombs and bulldozes Palestinian homes and agriculture.

Israel is just a wildlife nature preserve to keep the wild Jews from going extinct. I think they should move it to Disneyland and call it Jewtopia. Then there could be peace in the Middle East.
